first bug bite of the season

yesterday's post was a lie.

i got 1/4 of the way to doing the things i wanted to do and then - a headache.
so what did i do? i made some coffee to try and ease the pain - caffiene withdrawl is a bitch.
and when that didn't work, i gave in a popped two alieve. damnit. and other than that i just sat around on my couch waiting for it to go away.

carl, jasmine and holly came over for dinner. mmmm i love that baby.
then tommy came over. but did we make cannoli shells? nope. it was WAY too hot for that.
so instead we went to ralph's (mmm jelly ring) and got a movie.
we rented hostel because there wasn't anything else to get. and we figured since it was a quentin tarantino film, it might have a chance at being good, but we were wrong.

quentin, we are severely dissapointed in you.

so far for today i've paid two parking tickets and my car payment. whee.
and i'm signed up for some home renovations goin on. painting and so forth.
then around 4 ryan is coming over and we're taking pup to the park. should be a frisbee-licious :)
but that's so far. ryan has no phone so we just planned to hang at 4. we'll see how it goes.
then i'm off to tommy's around 8.

in the wee hours of this morning i woke with a jolt.
why?
something bit my ass while i was sleeping.
i kid you not. it's very strange - having been bitten on your butt. it's a somewhat violating feeling.
hm.

i'd better get myself moving.
lots to do.
let's hope my head doesn't explode into yet another headache today.

baking me pretty

today i think i will bake.

it's just about noon. today i planned on going dress shopping for the upcoming wedding at the end of june. tommy's friend melissa is getting married :) not only do i love hearing about two happy love birds, i also shiver with excitement at the prospect of getting all gussied up. dress shopping - a nightmare to some, but a candy-coated dream to me!

and i've got the irresistable urge to bake.
my first instinct tells me to tackle the cannoli yet again, (one day my shells will be deep-fried perfection!) but i think i'll also flip thru the sicilian baking book and see if anything else catches my eye.
so as far as i know, tommy is coming over later.
then we bake.

but now - now i need a shower.
and to respond to a few e-mails.
i am a bad bad friend.

carl and jasmine just put some über cute pictures of holly on a disc.
now i'm going to take advantage of that and put them on my blog.

someday this may be an anniversary

i really just felt the need to quickly note the fact that may 12th was the one year anniversary of seamus coming home!

i can't believe i forgot :( i feel bad. with all the hustle and bustle of work and mother's day, i just had no time to think of anything.

well. happy one year of having seamus.

one year ago today he was 9 lbs. today he is 33 lbs. HA! he's a BIG BOY!
